Marco Rubin, Principal
Mr. Rubin manages NAC's business and private equity consulting operations and currently serves as board member to the Delaware National Economic Development Authority. He is a nationally recognized venture capitalist who previously founded and managed Monumental Venture Partners, LLC (MVP), a seed and early stage venture capital firm headquartered in Virginia. Entrepreneur Magazine named MVP a Top 100 VC Firm in 2002 and 2003. Before forming MVP in 1999, Mr. Rubin launched and co-managed New Ventures, MCI's first venture capital unit, with a portfolio returning nearly 400 percent to the company. He has also served as a management consultant with Booz, Allen & Hamilton, Inc., to Fortune 500 Federal and Fortune 500 clients. Mr. Rubin began his career as an engineer at the Johnson Space Center Mission Operations Directorate. He holds a B.S. from the University of New Mexico and MBA from The George Washington University.
Emily Sarah Hersh, Associate
Ms. Hersh provides analysis and project management services to the NAC management team. She is responsible for leading market analyses, providing statistical support, and managing documentation for NAC client projects. She works directly with clients to adapt deal flow procedures to fit their specific needs, and works with tribal leadership to screen investment deals received.
Ms. Hersh conducted a year-long study on the interaction between private equity funds and investors, and government initiatives to direct capital into Indian country. Her research provided her with a keen understanding of the flow of funds into Indian country and allows her to more effectively serve NAC clients. She has worked directly with various tribes throughout the Midwest and western regions of the United States on preparing New Market Tax Credits (NMTC) applications, and has aided clients in using Tribal Economic Development Bonds (TEBDs) to finance projects. Ms. Hersh holds a B.S. in Economics and Political Economy from Tulane University and an M.A. in International Economics from American University.
