J.D. Colbert, President and Chief Executive Officer of Native American Bank, Joins Native American Capital, LP's National Advisory Board

JD ColbertWASHINGTON, D.C. (March 20, 2006) -- Native American Capital (NAC), LP, an 'All Indian Country' private equity/venture capital fund, announced the appointment of veteran Chickasaw-Creek banker J.D. Colbert to its National Advisory Board. Mr. Colbert recently became president and CEO of Native American Bank, in Denver, CO. Prior to joining Native American Bank, Mr. Colbert served as Executive Vice President of Bank2 in Oklahoma City, OK, a bank owned by Chickasaw Nation that he founded. Colbert also founded the North American Native Bankers Association, an association of Indian-owned banks in the U.S. and Canada. He is also a former bank examiner with the Federal Reserve Bank of Boston, a former bank chief financial officer, a former tribal administrator and a former bank president.

Founded and led by Native Americans, NAC, LP, is the first private equity and venture capital firm serving a national American Indian market. Targeted investments have a special focus on health care, infrastructure, the environment, education, and commerce.

J.D. Colbert's expertise covers asset quality, bank investments, interest rate risk management, Community Reinvestment Act, bank holding company issues, marketing and tribal/minority banking opportunities. He has been a speaker on banking issues at conferences sponsored by the Office of the Comptroller of the Currency, the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, the Oklahoma Bankers Association, the American Bankers Association and numerous Indian economic development conferences. Mr. Colbert received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree in management and marketing from the University of Oklahoma and earned a Masters degree in Administration, Planning and Social Policy from Harvard University and a Masters Degree in Organizational Development from Johns Hopkins University.
